I watched six movies in four days. "Boy Eats Girl" (zombie flick), "Planet Terror" (zombie flick). If it feels like there is a theme, I can almost promise you there is a zombie fan in our home. "The Ex" (comedy), "Run Fatboy Run" (comedy), "Slaughter" with was part of the 8 Films to Die for and I would give a very low score to. There were interesting concepts, but the lead character made so many bad decisions that it was difficult to feel sorry for her. "Dragon Hunters" which I would recommend to everyone. It's a feature length animated film, the music is wonderful, the art is fantastic and detailed and the characters are easy to become attached to.
It's nice to finally get a few days off from work. We're going through a number of boxes that were in storage, trying to decide what we really want to keep. Christina is taking pictures of everything she wants to remember but has no interest in keeping anymore. She's great when it comes to organizing, so she's been helping me list all the books I own on librarything. I am getting rid of my text books from college, though she is to. It's funny how you think you want to keep things like this from the "college years" and then so many years later you realize you forgot you owned them or that you were never interested in looking at them again. I finally have about 50 books listed on my librarything, though I will have far more books soon once we get that far in storage. I can see why she likes Librarything, because it keeps everything more organized than our book shelves tend to be. We always pile the books on the shelves and seem to forget what we own.
Nothing new in the acting front, though I did find the books I had on making movies, literally. We had even bought a camera so we could do this.

To Much Work
I have been to busy to do anything but work these last few weeks. The only thing it is not on acting it is for my day job. I've had a couple of auditions last week and I think that they went well, but there was no call back for them.
This has to be a short one, because I am at work right now with a dance show going on. Will write more next week. After I get a little bit of much needed rest.

Stung, Literally
The day started early with phone calls and errands. We dropped the little white Neon, Christina's first car, off to get the smog test. We're selling it. It was Christina's first car and now will be a first car to someone else.
While the car was getting checked out, we stopped by AAA to get paperwork to sale the car and while we were there, look at vacation packages. Unfortunately, we are going during hurricane season, so I hope we get a good clear vacation. I'd hate for it to be cancelled last minute when we waited so long for this.
Then I had to drop off a file to our Realtor and that's when it happened. For a dreary day, I was driving with the windows down, getting a little cool air. While stopped at a light, I felt buzzing wings by my ear and swatted it away, only for it to actually have lost its balance down the collar of my leather jacket. I swatted it and sent it spiraling to Christina, who wasn't too happy about that, when it landed on the floor by her purse.
Her being such a nature lover, the bee got a little more love than me, but unlike the bee, I was able to enjoy the affection a little longer. She put the bee in the grass so it could die peacefully and not get stepped on. Bees being in such a poor state right now, with them mysteriously dying, we both are against the needless killing of them. However, I didn't mean to swat it, it was stinging my neck, which made it a little late to save it once it lost its stinger.
I had to drop by work, which meant we had to drop by Walgreens to pick up work pictures and then drop by work, then I had to go to an appointment, which left Christina in charge, then I came back in time to grab her to pick up the car and now I'm back at work. It's a very long day. I might end it with a Netflix movie.

Commercial Agent
I received a little bad news yesterday. My commercial agent has decided to drop me. I am actually a little surprised that they did not drop me earlier. I have probably been with them for a little over a year. I still have my theatrical agent which is really good. I know that things will be picking up for me soon.

June Business
There are a number of events happening at the Performance Hall and a great deal of changes taking place. This job had been convient for auditions, but lately there hasn't been much to audition for. I'm thinking about getting back into theatre, but the job is in the late afternoons into the late evening. There isn't much space to do theatre. I really hope that things pick up for me. We have two Netflix movies in, which are normally horror. One is "Ice Spiders" which is supposed to be a tongue and cheek movie like "Eight Legged Freaks." We watched a little bit, but it got late, so we put it on pause. The other movie we have is "Kettle of Fish," which looks like a romance. The funny thing is, half the time I don't remember what is on the NetFlix counter, because we have 200 movies on the list and we forget by the time it shows up in the mailbox.

Audition and Background
May wasn't a very busy month. I did get a day of audience work which gives us a little money to put in our travel fund. So far, an actor's paycheck doesn't get one very far though I'm sure Christina would agree about the same thing with writing.
I'd work the show again. The people on set were high energy and there was singing and dancing. It ended up being a really great day. In between shots, there was a great deal of audience participation which scored people candy, shirts, a few minutes of fame, and a great deal of entertainment. During the second show we sat through, the Master of Ceremonies wanted us to sing with the music. The person who yells "Mony, Mony" the loudest was able to win a shirt. Christina wanted the shirt, so I gave it a shot. The host liked it so much that he gave me a microphone and I sang the rest of the song. I also won her the shirt she wanted, that has now, strangely ended up on my side of the closet. Maybe she just really wanted to have the concept of winning something. I won her a lot of chocolate that she was really grateful for, though I wish she would have shared with me. Love her, but when you give her chocolate, she has it swallowed before you can take a piece.
I had an audition for a bartender role. Wow, that brings back memories. I use to work as a bartender at twenty-two to twenty-three. I can't drink too much now, without having a horrible hangover in the morning. When I was young, I never had hangovers. Now, I regret that last drink if I wake up feeling horrible the next day. I went to Vegas with my brother and came home feeling pretty sick. It took a few days to sleep it off. What I learned was that: A. I can't out drink a group of Germans and B. I can't keep up with my brother when it comes to liquor.
They haven't called me back for the role, so I probably didn't get it. I'm not getting auditions like I use to, but I'm hoping to change that this year.
I had Monday and Tuesday off so we ran errands and went to see the new movie, "UP" which Christina really wanted to see.

News and Updates
Once again, we were a few days from moving into our townhouse, and again it doesn't happen. This place needed a lot of work, but we were given a number of suggestions that really helped and would save money. We're both disappointed because the townhouse was pretty big for an L.A. home and it was right next to the pool area. We could just skip right over and hop in the hot tub. So now we're back to the drawing board.
I've been sending my pictures out, but no phone calls for auditions, really. I had one audition for a game show, and I did well enough to be in round two. I didn't get much further, because some of the questions I couldn't answer because I wasn't fully knowledgeable on Country Music. I've been listening to it off and on on the radio the last couple of days, in case I did get called to be on the show.
Every time Christina and I go to the mall, we get stopped to do studies. I have a feeling these women get paid per person they can bring in, so we both agreed to do it. This is the second time I've made $15 for giving my opinion. Christina made $6 and $5 for smelling perfume and giving her opinion.
I'm still having such a hard time sleeping. The last week I've been up till 3 am or 5am. I have to start working out for health reasons. The "this can happen if you don't" routine the doctors give you, really scared me into action. We'll get a special cook book and start making home cooked meals that are okay for me to eat.
